It is reported that the Lackawanna will build thirty-eight miles of road between Brocton, N. Y., and Erie, Pa., and will make a deal with the Western New York and Pennsylvania. By the terms of the deal the latter will use the new road to get into Erie and in return the Lackawanna trains will be given the right to use the Western New York and Pennsylvania tracks between Brocton and Buffalo, a distance of fifty miles. A reason for supposing the report correct is the fact that the Lackawanna desires an independent Chicago connection and this is a step in that direction.
