Dunkirk, March 13. Engineer Charles Hesler of Buffalo, Fireman D. L. Church of Collingwood, O., and Fireman Vance of Buffalo, were severely injured today when No. 18 on the New York Central ran into a freight wreck at Farnham.
The passenger engine and several freight cars were piled across the tracks. None of the passenger cars left the rails.
The wreck occurred at Farnham station at about 6 o’clock. Wreckers from Buffalo and Erie were called and had the tracks cleared about 9:30 o’clock.
It is understood that the wreck was caused by a tire of one of the wheels of the freight locomotive coming off and derailing the passenger engine, which went over on its side.
