The City’s Railroad Stock

A newspaper article about a resolution before the Buffalo Common Council for the city to sell its stocks in the Buffalo and Jamestown Railroad and Buffalo, New York and Philadelphia Railroad.

The Committee on Finance, to whom was referred a resolution directing the sale of the city’s stock in the Buffalo & Jamestown and Buffalo, New York & Philadelphia Railroads, reported that in their opinion this was not a favorable time to endeavor to dispose of the same, such property being at present greatly depreciated in value. They recommended that the sale be indefinitely postponed. The recommendation of the committee was adopted.
