Riceville Wants a Station

Frank Hadley of Riceville, a little town in Cattaraugus county, seven miles beyond Springville, appeared before the Railroad Commissioners this morning in the interests of his village. which is on the B., R. & P. railroad, and has no station.

Riceville is a small town, but bustling and the inhabitants rightly think they are deserving of some protection. The railroad has denied the request of the townspeople, saying the business did not warrant it. Mr. Hadley was prepared to show that business was increasing, and that there is great need of some accommodation as the village is a mile away from the tracks, and there is no suitable convenience for passengers.
