Cars Will Be Running August 1st

The Lewiston & Youngstown Frontier Railway Company contemplate operating trolley cars on that portion of their road running through the village of Lewiston on Wednesday next. R. B. Goodman, formerly associated with Chief Engineer George A. Ricker of the Gorge road as assistant engineer, has been appointed superintendent of the new road, and assumed the duties of his several days ago. Karl Evans of Buffalo will have charge of the passenger and freight business of the road, with headquarters at Lewiston.

Cars will start from the terminus of the road, corner of Onondaga and Water Streets, and run to the north village line. The time schedule has been arranged to meet all trains of the New York Central and Gorge road cars, which will give the local passenger traffic a quick and convenient service.

Work on the main line near Youngstown was somewhat delayed this week, owing to the breaking down of rolling mill machinery at the Pittsburg iron works last week. The remainder of the iron, however, is expected here to-day, and the main track from the village limits to Youngstown will be completed by the middle of next week.

‘The overhead system which was commenced a few days ago is about half finished, and the work is being rapidly pushed forward. It is confidently expected that the entire line will be completed and in operation by August 1st.
