Great Valley, NY

The Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway station in Great Valley, NY circa 1920. Photo posted on the Facebook “The Buffalo Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway Company” page.

Great Valley was a station on the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh Railway between Salamanca and Ellicottville. The photo above shows the station in the 1920s and it is believed that the station was closed and torn down in 1953. Local rumor has it that the station never had electricity.

The Erie Railroad also had a station named Great Valley, sometimes called Killbuck or Kill Buck, on its mainline just east of Salamanca.

The two stations were not near each other, but were both in the town of Great Valley.
