Opening of the Olean, Bradford & Warren Narrow-Gauge.
The Olean, Bradford & Warren narrow-gauge railroad is now open for freight and passenger traffic, from Olean to Bradford. The last three hundred feet was completed on Thursday, and on Monday next the road will be formally opened to the public. The road is twenty-three miles in length, though the distance on an air line between the termini is only about twelve miles. After leaving Olean it passes through Two Mile, Four Mile, Rock City, Knapp’s Creek, State Line, Bell’s Camp, Red Rock, Gillmor, Derrick City, Babcock’s Mill, Foster Brook, Tarport, to Bradford. By a time-table which goes into effect next Monday there will be two first-class trains and one second-class each way, daily, Sundays excepted. Passengers leaving Buffalo at 7.10 A. M. and 4 20 P. M. on the Buffalo, New York & Philadelphia Railway, can make direct connections at Olean with trains on the new road, which will enable them to reach Bradford at 12.15 P.M. and 9.25 P.M., the same day, and leaving Bradford at six o’clock A. M. and two o’clock P. M., trains connect closely, enabling passengers to reach this city at eleven o’clock A. M. and seven o’clock P.M. The completion of this road opens an extensive territory and will prove of great benefit to Buffalo.
