Commission Saved Depot Railroad Tried to Close

Decision Prevents Abandonment of Pembroke Station.

Petition to the Public Service Commission be the United States Railroad Administration for the discontinuance of the Tonawanda branch of the New York Central station at Pembroke and the establishment of a non-agency station. dispensing with the services of Harold W. Baten, son of Dr. Rates of Batavia, and appointing a caretaker, has been denied in an order issued by the commission yesterday.

The petition to abandon the Akron Falls station on the same road and to change the name of the station at Falkirk to Akron Falls, moving the present Akron Falls station to the site of the present Falkirk station, was granted.
