Traffic on the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburg railway in standstill. The Erie, between Buffalo and Jamestown, is also tied up by floods and washouts. In Salamanca the Western New York & Pennsylvania Traction Company, which runs the trolley system in Salamanca and Olean, is badly crippled.
A washout four miles East of Salamanca will prevent trolley traffic between Salamanca and Olean for at least four days. At Ellicottville the main street is under water.
