Chautauqua Traction Block System

The Chautauqua Traction Company is instituting the block system of running cars on the line for the safety of the public, as well as of the car equipment. There are 16 switches between Jamestown and Westfield, and at each switch is a telephone station. The block signals are located at each of these switches and also at stations where there is telephone service. The signals are to be operated from the office at Stow and when the block is down at any switch or station the cars must stop and wait for further orders. -Westfield Republican.
