– J. D. Griffin, assistant to George Bullock, of New York, the receiver for the Jamestown, Chautauqua & Lake Erie railroad, has made some sweeping changes among the officials and other employes of the road in Jamestown, and by this and other means hopes to be able to effect a saving of something like $600 a month. A new freight engine is to be bought soon and an order for 32,000 ties has been placed for the repair of the tracks in the spring.
