The Chautauqua Traction Company

The Chautauqua Traction Company, which proposes to build an electric railroad from Lakewood to the Chautauqua Assembly grounds and Mayville, is having considerable trouble in securing the right of way, and in some cases those who object are those who would reap the most benefit from the road. The line would connect at Lakewood with the Jamestown Street Railway Company’s line, and the local company will control the new road if it is built. It is hoped to have the road running time for the summer business.
