Olean. – Contractors have begun to figure on plans and specifications for the new $250,000 power plant of the Western New York & Pennsylvania Traction Company. It will be located on Fifteenth and Irving streets just south of the original Olean Rock City & Bradford Car Line, The building will have a frontage of 176 feet on Fifteenth street and 160 feet on Irving street. There will be three Babcock & Wilcox boilers. The plant will have a 750 horse power turbine in its first installment with direct connected generator and with space for second unit of same power to be installed within the year, together with space for other unit as the development of the plant requires. The building will be absolutely fire-proof, The floors will be of concrete and the building of brick. The foundation will be solid masonry of reinforced concrete. The company has been authorized to spend the $250,000 by the Public Service Commission in the second district. A large electric sign will adorn the building.
