This July 1895 article discusses the planned uses of the electric power that was beginning to be generated from the flow of water at Niagara Falls. It highlights the Buffalo and Niagara Falls Electric Railway and the Niagara Falls and Lewiston Electric Railway as being two likely consumers of the power. The article goes on to state that numerous New York Central Railroad officials were connected to the Niagara Falls Power Company and suggests that the Central might electrify its line between Buffalo and Niagara Falls to fight off the competition on this route from the new electric railways.
