Buffalo was the most significant rail hub between New York City and Chicago for many years and most of the large railroads that operated in the state had one or more lines that reached to the city.
Buffalo has enough railroad history to be its own website. I will be adding information to this page as I find it and have time. Please be patient!
Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway
A 1901 timetable listed the Buffalo, Rochester and Pittsburgh Railway (BR&P) station in Buffalo as “NYC Station” and a 1903 timetable showed it as “Exchange Street Station.”
Beginning on March 1, 1917 the BR&P used the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad passenger terminal in Buffalo.
