Alexander is a town in Genesee County and was on the Erie Railroad Attica Branch and the New York Central Railroad Attica Branch. The lines of the two railroads paralleled each other through the village and the stations were very near each other on Railroad Avenue.

Additionally, the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad had a station named “North Alexander“, which was sometimes called “Alexander” and another named “East Alexander.” There is a map in the Maps section below showing the locations of all of these stations in and around the village of Alexander.
