Fentonville was the southernmost station in New York State on the Dunkirk, Allegheny Valley and Pittsburgh Railroad, later part of the New York Central Railroad. It was also a stop on the Warren and Jamestown Street Railway.

A very strange 1884 newspaper timetable for trains running on the “Dunkirk, Warren and Pittsburg Railroad.” The Dunkirk, Warren and Pittsburgh Railroad ceased to exist in 1870 when it was merged into the Dunkirk, Warren and Pittsburgh Railway, which itself was merged into the Dunkirk, Allegheny Valley and Pittsburg Railroad on December 31, 1872.
