Ellwood Park, NY

Ellwood Park was (or may have been) a station on the Erie Railroad‘s Buffalo, Niagara Falls Branch. It appears on Erie Railroad timetables from 1893 and on an 1893 map of the Buffalo area, but does not show up on later timetables.

There was a long discussion on railroad.net by people who know the area much better than I do about Ellwood Park and the Erie in the area. One point was that it would not make sense for the Erie to build a station in that area in the late 1800s as it was undeveloped area with no roads or reason for people to travel there. One of the people in that discussion also posted photos of the area where the station was reported to be on Flickr.
