This Road is now finished, and yesterday was appointed as a day to celebrate its completion, by running a train to the Falls and back to Canandaigua, with a large number of invited guests. No doubt the day passed off finely. The road is said to be one of the best in the country, and it is under efficient and judicious management. Its opening through to the Falls it is expected will bring an increase of business to the Canandaigua & Elmira Road, and for our part, we go for the consolidation of the two roads, as soon as it can be judiciously effected.
We are under obligations to Superintendent Brown, of the Niagara Road, for an invitation to attend yesterday’s celebration, and join the ride to the falls, and regret that we could not accept it. We must embrace some other opportunity ere long, to take a ride over the new road. – We trust its prosperity will be all that its builders and friends have expected.
