Burglars at East Alexander

Burglars visited J. C. Gardner’s coal office at East Alexander on the Lackawanna road last night, gaining an entrance by breaking four panes of glass and then tearing out the sash. A box of cigars, some plug tobacco, a quantity of smoking tobacco, a little small change and a few postage stamps were taken, amounting to $7 or $8. The perpetrators are unknown, but there are evidences that somebody’s hand was cut in breaking the glass.
