This September 29, 1860 article recounts a dispute between the Avon, Geneseo and Mt. Morris Railroad and the Buffalo, New York and Erie Railroad over access by the AG&MM to the station, water, and turntable at Avon. It then goes on to advocate for local towns to approach the New York Central, which “is controlled by sagacious, far-seeing men” with a proposition for the NYC to take over the AG&MM and extend it to Rush, NY.
