West Alden was a station the Main Line of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western (DL&W) Railroad. It was located at milepost 375.8 between Dollwood (MP 383.2) to the west and Alden (MP 374.2) to the east. It appears on only a few DL&W timetables and I have not been able to find any photos of the station.
History
The line through West Alden was built in 1882 by the New York, Lackawanna and Western Railroad, which was leased by the DL&W immediately after the line was built. The DL&W operated the line until 1960 when the it merged with the Erie Railroad to form the Erie Lackawanna Railroad.
The last passenger train operated over the line on June 30, 1962 and the DL&W track through West Alden was abandoned in 1963.
