Below is are two articles from the same date about a new trolley line from Hamburg to Falconer, NY. The line was never built.

Believed That Work on Extension from
Falconer to Hamburg will be Commenced
in Near Future – Right of Way
Negotiations On.

Falconer, Jan. 10 – During the past few days there has been much talk here regarding the building of a trolley line from this village to connect with the line out of Buffalo, which has already been built and is in operation to Hamburg. A number of men connected with the scheme have visited Falconer and enough has been said by them to give assurance that such a line is to be built in the near future.

A corps of engineers has already made a survey for the proposed line as far as South Dayton, from this village, and the trolley road when completed will go through Poland Center and Kennedy, thence up the valley to Ellington, thence to Clear Creek and Conewango Valley. There is a question yet to be decided upon whether the line shall be built through the village of Cherry Creek or go east across the country and through the village of Leon, making stops at other communities in Cattaraugus county which at present are without railroad communication, before coming back to South Dayton. From the latter place the road will be built through Dayton and Gowanda and other towns along the Erie railroad until the connection is made at Hamburg in Erie county.

Men interested in the project have already secured options on property for rights of way for a considerable distance. It is said that there is plenty of capital back of the enterprise and the optimistic persons declare that direct trolley service between Falconer and Buffalo will be a reality within two years.

It is understood that Jamestown capitalists are interested in the project and that there is unlimited capital ready to push the matter when once a right of way is secured.

South Dayton, Jan. 10 – Those interested in the proposed new trolley line through here met in the town hall Tuesday. There were representatives present from Leon, Ellington and Conewango and it was agreed that the project appeared very favorable. It is reported the right of way has been secured from Falconer this way nearly to Clear Creek village. It is proposed to cross the railroad between Clear Creek and Conewango Valley and continue on the east side of the track to Gowanda. The projected route is from here to Wesley, thence to Persia and on the line of Broadway to or near the point where the highway from Dayton crosses under the railroad.
